The best news of the weekend...

I almost forgot to mention the best news of the weekend. The Yankees signed Roger Clemens!!! Praise God (or George Steinbrenner). Hopefully his legs will be strong enough to provide the Yankees with a much needed pitching boost.

A confession

For all of three of my readers, I have a confession to make that might give you some insight as to why I am the way I am. Last night as I was watching Desperate Housewives I was shocked to see one of my closest and dearest childhood friends playing the role of Edie's ex-husband. I am sure you are all amazed at the fact that I would "know" such a big celebrity. By "know" I mean he was my imaginary friend when I was 3-4. His real name is Greg Evigan and he was the star of a TV show in the late 70's and early 80's called B.J. and the Bear. In the show he played a semi-truck driver who had a pet monkey, Bear. They traveled the country and got into all sorts of adventures and mishaps. I absolutely loved this show and soon made "B.J." my friend/boyfriend. He went everywhere with me, much to the chagrin of my parents. In my own defense I would like to add that all of this took place before my brothers where born and we lived in the small town of Hereford. We did not know very many people with kids my age, except the boy who stole my first kiss whose actual name was Brick Wall. I swear it. But I digress. My dad loves to tell the story about us going to K-Bob's for dinner and me screaming at him at the top of my lungs that he had taken B.J.'s seat and then demanding that the waitress also bring B.J. a menu. Even having heard my dad tell that story more times than I can count actually writing it out pains me!! I am sure you all feel a little more enlightened having read this.

No more Stars Hollow???

I love Gilmore Girls. There is something about Loralei and Rory that I find so amusing. Maybe it is their witt. I am so sad that the CW has decided to cancel the show even though it is one of the most watched shows on their network. I know that Chris and the rest of the men in my family will not be sad to see the show die. I have yet to meet a man who understands or likes this show but, nonetheless, I will still miss it. I just hope they wrap things up well. I should really re-evaluate my life when the cancellation of a tv show puts a damper on my Friday!!! I need help.

NO I AM NOT DEAD

FYI: I did not drop off of the face of the earth. It has been a busy last couple of weeks for the Bunch's. Here is the run down...

On April 20th I had my wisdom teeth taken out. All went well at the dentist office but a few hours later I took a turn for the worse. I had taken a pain pill around 9:00 am so that when the medicine from the dentists office wore off I would not be in much pain. About 12:00 I decided I felt good enough to try a milkshake so Chris went to Sonic to get me one. I took another pain pill before he left and about ten minutes later I started not feeling so well. I went to the kitchen to get some water to cool myself off and soon discovered that moving around was not a good idea. I felt like I needed to throw up so I clung onto the wall to get to the bathroom. I did not throw up but I did decide that the tile on the bathroom floor felt good so I laid down. When Chris came back about 10 minutes later and found me laying in the floor in the bathroom he totally freaked out. He called the dentist and they told him that I probably just needed to eat something so I quickly downed the milkshake. About 10 minutes later my body rejected the milkshake. I continued to throw up the rest of the day. Apparently my body did not like the pain meds so I could not even take them anymore. All I could take was alieve which did not help much. I think it was one of the first true tests of our young marriage. Chris was sooo sweet. He held my hair for me while I threw up and he called the dentist 4 times during the day to make sure there was not anything else he could do. Two weeks later I am finally back to eating normal foods and have little to no pain but not something I would ever want to do again.

Last week we babysat for my "second family," the Needhams. We had a great time with the kids but it solidified our plan to wait a while to have kids. We are just going to enjoy being with each other for a while and not having crying kids at our door at 2:00 am or teenagers on the phone until 11:30 on a school night!!!

This week we are getting ready for a garage sale. I HATE garage sales, but it is much needed. My parents are bringing all of their crap to our house so at least we will have plenty of able bodies there to help.

2 weeks in and I already almost killed him...

For the last 7 years I have lived on my own/with roommates. I was always responsible to and for myself. Now everything is different and my dear husband is throwing a kink in my independent living. Let me explain...last Monday was to be my first day back at work since returning from my honeymoon. For anyone who knows me it is a rare occasion for me to be on time for anything, but I was really striving to make it to work before my usual 8:15 so I could tell everyone about our trip and show pictures. Ever since I have had a garage I always lay my keys on the console between my seats when I park my car, thus making it easy for me to hop in when I am running late and zip out of the driveway and off to my next destination. We had been out running some errands last Sunday and Chris was driving my car. When we got home Chris did not adhere to my key placement guidelines, but instead stuck the keys in his pocket where I would be sure to look the next morning when I was getting ready for work. Monday morning I ran around the house looking on every table for my keys, I even dumped the contents of my purse out to see if I had dropped them in there when I realized who had misplaced my keys. I had to wake Chris up which was absolutely of no help until I finally resorted to digging through the dirty laundry for the pants he had worn the night before. When I got home that night I had a discussion with him about the keys but obviously it went in one ear and out the other because the whole dilemma repeated itself this morning. Needless to say I am going to have an extra copy of my car key made today and he will no longer be allowed to touch my keys.

Well its official...

I am now a married woman. The wedding could not have been more perfect. The weather was a beautiful 75 which was such a blessing. My flowers, cake and every other detail were flawless. It is amazing how fast the ceremony seems to fly by and you dont even really remember it. Luckly we have a video. We had a great time on our honeymoon but have had a rough time adjusting to life in the real world. We wished we could have stayed in the Bahamas. I just got our proofs from our photographer and have not had a chance to scan them in yet but will try to make time to do that this weekend.

Full steam ahead

Well it is 45 days until the BIG DAY!! Things are officially picking up pace. I had my first fitting last week which went beautifully. Well except for the part where I cried. Let me explain...my dress only comes in 3 lenghts and when we ordered it they stressed the fact that it could not be hemmed because of the beading on the bottom. So we told them to get the 5'5" length seeing as I am 5'4" and my heels are only 1". Perfect right??? When I got the dress on there was about 3 inches on the ground. I started to panic. It took 2 months for my dress to come in and I knew there was not enough time to get another one. I started tearing up. They checked the order form and they had ordered a 5'7" dress even after they wrote down that we wanted a 5'5". The owner of the shop brought out a seamstress and they came up with a solution which I think actually makes the dress look better!!! The best part is they are not going to charge us for the alterations!!!!! YEAH!!!!! I go again next week and am very excited because Ashley, my maid of honor, is coming so she can learn how to fasten my bussel and sinch me up!! She has not seen the dress yet!! We also met with the table decoration people Monday and got to see what the tables will actually look like for the first time. Oh and we got the flower girl dresses. They are really cute. So far so good (knock on wood). Well I dont have much else to write about for now. My head is swirling with to do lists so I am not much in writing mode.

YEAH FOR PEI WEI!!!!!

My dear friend RyAnn got me hooked on the best asian food at a little restaraunt called Pei Wei!! Everytime I go to Arlington to visit her we have to go eat there. That is until now. That's right Amarillo is finally moving up in the world and getting a Pei Wei!!!! I was so excited when I read the article about it in the paper that I immediatly had to call Chris and tell him of our good fortune. The best part of it is the new shopping center it is going to be in is right across the street from my office!!!!! I can smell the Honey Seared Chicken now. YIPPEE!!!!!!!! I have Chris, an awesome family, great friends and a Pei Wei...what else could a girl ask for????

Creme Brulee anyone???

I have neglected my small but all too dedicated blog readers by failing to update for the last couple of weeks. While I dont have much to contribute today I am hoping that this latest post will buy me some time until I can get my pictures from Christmas and New Year's loaded.

This is a picture of a couple of my favorite gifts. Chris was very proud of himself for this one even though I did register for it and I think he only got it for me so he could use the blow torch. We tried the quick mix and it was just as delicious as I hoped it would be. Hopefully I will be able to make the real deal from scratch soon.

This is what much of Amarillo looked like yesterday morning. We had "thunder snow" Tuesday and Wednesday. Even though it was sleeting there was thunder and lightning. That is one of the best and worst things about living in the Panhandle, we get the craziest weather. Luckily most of it has melted off and it is supposed to get warmer through the weekend. I cant beloeve Christmas is just a couple of days away. It always seems like it comes and goes in such a hurry. I love Christmas and the fact that it brings families together. This Christmas, as most of you know, will be a very special one because it will be Chris and I's first one together. I am really excited about getting to spend time with both of our families and experiencing new traditions that we can make our very own. I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas!!!

Vast improvement!!! I was so excited I got up about 5 times during the night just to go in there and turn the light on and look at my new bathroom.

Who has an ornament of where they got married?!?!

I DO!!!! Check this out!! Can you believe it? What are the odds that they would choose this ornament this year?? Well I guess I had a 1 in 11 shot, but seriously, who has an ornament of the place where they got married??? Chris' sister-in-law Kendall works for the university and went and picked one up for me Tuesday and I finally got to see it last night. It is so beautiful!!! I will take a picture of it this weekend and post it so you can see it.

MY SUPRISE VISITOR!!!!

Chris called me today and said he was going to bring me some tea from the Water Still when he got off of work and when he showed up at my office he also brought me a suprise visitor. Ashley, my old roomate, best friend and Maid of Honor had to come to town to get some work done on her car and Chris ran into her at the Water Still. I was so excited to see her. She moved to Plainview a few months ago to manage their new Starbucks. I miss you bunches Ash and love you more!!!!

RyAnn found out yesterday that her bun in the oven, Braxton, will be forced to come and meet us Friday!!! Chris and I are very excited and can't wait to meet him!! We love you guys and you are in our prayers!!

PS - I guess I could mention Ry's husband, Nate, he does deserve at least some credit for how cute his kids are!! Ha! Love you too Nate!!!

On the grounds that RyAnn may never read my blog again I have decided to post even though I don't have any pictures of the completed bathroom. Since the bathroom is not finished I have substituted a picture of my future hubby holding his niece, Lillie. Doesn't he look cute holding a baby?!?!

Bathroom Remodel

Sorry I have not blogged in a couple of days. I have some pictures I wanted to add and for some reason it is not letting me so I will have to add them later. Anyway, my house is currently covered in a layer of dust due to the master bath remodel. The bathroom was absolutely hideous before so any change will be a vast improvement. The guys started yesterday with gutting the shower and moving the shower head up about 6" to accommodate my future beast of a husband!!! Hopefully by the time I get home today I will have walls in my shower and the new toilet installed. I am really excited about it and looking forward to seeing the end result. Maybe later tonight I will have some before and midway through the project pictures up.
